HELP me choose my courses!!

Oh ok, I understand it a bit more now =) If you can't understand the next few paragraphs, just skip to what I typed out in bold :P

Sorry to be so confusing, but just to make sure with you (I'll also probably call the Admissions Office to make sure too), but:

"Students considering transfer are required to complete a two semester general introductory biology sequence i.e. Biology 1 and Biology 2 with hands on labs prior to transfer."

So basically, I need to take an Intro Bio course, which means I will have to basically take two Bio courses during my freshman year right? The second Bio course would be sort of a "Continuation" of the first right?

So the first semester would be known as "Bio1", and the second semester would be known as "Bio2", if we're referring to the quote above? That would be the general introductory biology sequence, making me meet the Bio course reqs? (I will also take the hands on labs).

I'm probably just looking at this too much, kind of tired, and I'm just thinking: "What if it isn't possible to take these courses during my freshman year?" I just wanted to know if it's possible for this stuff to happen during freshman year in college.

**Basically what I want to know is: If you visit this link:
CALS Admissions: Required Preparatory Coursework

If you read the "Required Preparatory Coursework" (First paragraph, first 5 lines) from your experience at college, is it easy/normal for these to be done during freshman year?**

I did it all....without going insane :-)

I had 17 credit semesters....but it was actually quite manageable.

Sorry for the double post =/

Sounds good :P Did you have to go out of your way or something to make it happen?

Thanks for the help by the way, you've answered so many questions lol, so thanks =)

Nope...didn't go out of my way at all.

As a matter of fact, I did the honors program, varsity swim team and orchestra and managed to get a 3.7 my 1st semester and 4.0 my 2nd :-)

Wow lol, nice job Dewdrop :P. I can't tell if you meant that you didn't go out of your way to earn the GPA or something else.

Did you go out of your way to get those courses in? I don't know if it's normal for people to be taking a **two semester general introductory biology sequence (Biology 1 and Biology 2) with hands on labs prior, and two academic writing/English composition courses **during freshman year. So is it easy to ask for these things in bold? Sorry if I didn't interpret your last post correctly, couldn't tell what it was for lol :P

taking your 2 semesters of bio and english during your freshman year is normal....

Ok, so the Bio courses are/sound normal, but what about two academic writing/English composition *courses *? Does an English course usually last one semester for a freshman? We're talking about like English courses for freshman, not English courses that are complex and stuff for juniors or something. Just generally, for a freshman, does an English course last one semester/last from Sept- mid-year?

Because if that is the case, then I can get two in. I can just take one English course one semester, and another English course during my second semester, but please try and answer the question above.

Thanks a lot again

Get as close as you can to it. That's what I'm doing. I spoke to a transfer counselor and they said as long as you try to meet the requirements as best as possible, it's alright.

very few college courses last 1 full year. For pretty much all intents and purposes: college courses last 1 semester (late Aug to early Dec). Most colleges have specific freshman level composition courses.
