I am confused with the major that I should be choosing for my grad school.
I've decided to go to grad school, anyways. Hard for me is to choose the subject that I'd like to study. I was working until a year back in the technology indistry(IT/computer engg.). I quit my job and now am athome with a toddler. I'm rady to get back to school.
But, don't know waht to choose. I'd not be interested in pure engg. or CS again. I was looking into accounting but that seems a long route for me(>2 yrs) as most colleges are askimg me to take up under gradcourses of about 12 -15 credits. This makes me to stay longer in college.I am in NY and I can attend college in surrounding areas too(CT,NJ,upstate etc) .Please suggest me some majors.
I'd be grateful.

I would suggest a thorough and intensive graduate program in elementary English spelling/sentence construction.

^^ Lol.

What’s your goal after grad school?

I apologize for my earlier rudeness, but it was a great opportunity.

I would say that you’re not quite ready for graduate studies if you haven’t determined what you want to study. The adcomm will know right away if you’re not certain about what you want to do.

ixington,
I know the adcomm would immediately figure out. Thats’ why I want to be prepared so that I can plan my essays
davidmigl,
I plan to work in industry after grad school .Also, would like to move in to finance/accoutning field if possible.Otherwise, will stick to my current work ex itself.
No other goal as of now…LOL

Graduate school is not for the vague. You have to hit the ground running full force when you enter a grad program, even if it’s a master’s program, so unless you have a good idea of what you want to accomplish, you’ll have huge difficulties. If you think you’d love accounting, then don’t worry about how long it will take. If you are interested in an MBA, I suggest that you post in the Business School forum for additional help. You have work experience, which is desirable when applying to MBA programs.

Another degree won’t guarantee you a job at the end, if that’s what you hope.

momwaitingfornew,
Yes,I like accounting/finance/budgeting

Actually,I have interest in M.S in management course that will give me course in finance/acctg. Later,I plan to sit for CPA
Will a MS in mangement hold good as compared to MBA. I’m not keen on MBA
