Hello!

I am an Electrical Engineering major accepted into UD, Stony Brook, Rowan, and Temple. A major concern for me is cost, as my parents will only help pay for my education if I bring tuition down to my equivalent in-state list-price tuition (which is UD), which is around 25000.

This is what I am looking at after tuition, room/board, fees/books/pencils/blaablaablaa, and with scholarships applied

UD - 20500
Stony Brook - 25500
Temple - 16000
Rowan - 9500

Rowan is awfully tempting, and it would seems silly if I turned that financial aid down, but I wouldn't say I was extremely impressed or excited when I visited. The weight room was rather small, which I didn't like at all. I have heard Temple's engineering department is struggling currently, and my mother wouldn't sleep for the entire year if I went there (she is worried about safety), but I am fine with it. I like Philly. Stony Brook is the most expensive of the lot, but seems nice. The only issue is that it seems many people say it is a depressing place. Of course, anywhere can be depressing with a bad attitude, but is it really that bad? And UD, my instate, is probably lowest on my list, which makes other people gasp in horror when I say that. I wanna get outta this place :)

I guess I am looking for a school with an engineering dept. that won't leave me for dead when I apply to grad schools, a school that is exciting with many, many clubs and activities (Quidditch!), a nice weight room with an Olympic platform, a nice surrounding city either driven or trained(?) to explore and frolic in, and a school I can be proud to go to.

Thanks!
