I know in west, Caldwell, folk herfner, armstrong is supposed to be good I guess?
How about the East Dorm?

BTW,I am an International kid.from China.

Thats just a stereotype…im rooming west…and i dont even have any video games. i guess my reasons for rooming west consist of…quieter nights (i need sleep), CRC(i plan on going every day), nicer dorms, and apparently better food. Benefits for east side are obvious. Frat row, parties, closer to stadium, and more lively on game days. So whatever your priorities, hopefully they fit into one of the two categories. As for east dorms…ive heard hanson and hopkins are good.

When I visited last week, West Campus is where it’s at - that’s what I took away. I can’t tell you about how good the dorms are, but West Campus had all the classes (for me anyway), fields, the rec center, the workout gym/pool, etc…Seemed like all East had was Tech Square, fraternities, and BD Stadium.

thx lot bud! I guess I am going to the WEST.

West campus is more residential feeling. People there can be cool, but also they can suck because everyone incoming has the exact same idea of East v. West as you all do. So the uptight people can tend to live out there.

West dorms are better and typically bigger definitely. I lived in Fitten for Fall 08 - Spring 09 and I would recommend it. One big thing: private shower stalls. Glenn and Towers are horrible in that aspect. Imagine a corner of a room with 8 shower heads, only divided by curtains and if you are in the very corner of the room the only way to get out of the shower is to cross 3 other showers. You can literally get stuck waiting for someone to finish. Fitten’s showers were curtain:changing room:curtain:shower all in an individual stall.

But also, I did not join a sorority which is a lot of the reason people live on East. But honestly, I managed to get out and drink like the rest of them and I loved the walk from West to the Greek Area.

I lived west, it was clean enough to walk outside barefoot, not so sure if I would try that east campus. Also west is a bit safer as it is more isolated from the rest of Atlanta, fewer cars get stolen or broken into on that side of campus, ULC has better water pressure than Maulding, which is important if you have long hair.

how are the showers set up in the east campus dorms? Are they made so there is no privacy at all ?

GTChBE’s description is spot on. I’ve always referred to Glenn’s showers as “prison showers with drapes.” There’s privacy, but you don’t have your own stall.

Oh, I see do you by any chance know where the showers would be on this particular floor? http://www.housing.gatech.edu/reshalls/images/006Floor2.gif</a> all I’m able to see are toilet stalls in the bathroom. Also how do you think friendships from high school would last considering some of my friends were assigned to west campus.

This is not true. May I remind you that Home Park, where strings of robberies/muggings have taken place, is nearest to West campus? So is M-Street where people have complained about gates being left open and criminals getting in and robbing apartments.
