help me choose which college to attend!

I've been stressing out over this since I got my acceptance to both schools this week...undeclared at UT and ChemE at UIUC. My first choice was UT but I never applied for ChemE (big mistake). I had initially been set on taking a risk and going to UT for one year and trying to transfer into their ChemE department, but I know that chances of that being successful are low. With that being said, I'm now unsure which of these two school to attend. Can people please list pro's and cons to help me make a more holistic decision (yes I will be visiting both schools next month). If it's relevant, I'm from NJ so I'm OOS for both schools.

Both schools are similar academically, so you’re down to personal factors (Texas vs. the Midwest and Austin vs. Urbana). If you were in both chemical engineering programs, I’d call it a toss-up. But since you’re in at UIUC and not at UT-Austin, I’d recommend UIUC.

People will likely come in here and discuss the Gulf Coast chemical industry and the advantages of going to school in Texas, but the Midwest has it’s share of chemical plants and right now is growing faster than Texas in terms of chemical engineering positions.
