Help me convince my friend not to take Math IIC without a calculator :(

EaterofBaby (1:10:51 AM): so
EaterofBaby (1:10:58 AM): dare me to take math IIc no-calc?
a temporary sn (1:11:02 AM): DON'T DO ITTT
EaterofBaby (1:11:12 AM): it's a multiple choice test
a temporary sn (1:11:18 AM): nooooo
EaterofBaby (1:11:20 AM): there's no reason not to
a temporary sn (1:11:26 AM): math
a temporary sn (1:11:26 AM): ii

EaterofBaby (1:11:38 AM): I DON'T CARE
EaterofBaby (1:11:46 AM): hmm
a temporary sn (1:11:51 AM): it's MADE for the utilization of calculators!
a temporary sn (1:11:53 AM): the barron's book
a temporary sn (1:11:59 AM): gives you a breakdown
a temporary sn (1:12:02 AM): of how many REQUIRE calculators
a temporary sn (1:12:07 AM): how many they RECOMMEND calculators for
a temporary sn (1:12:11 AM): and how many are better to do w/o
EaterofBaby (1:12:17 AM): well i'll allow myself the privilege of writing out work
a temporary sn (1:12:20 AM): i think it's like 1/3 1/3 1/3
EaterofBaby (1:12:23 AM): which should make it easier
a temporary sn (1:12:27 AM): did you not on the sat i
a temporary sn (1:12:29 AM): ?

a temporary sn (1:13:35 AM): please
a temporary sn (1:13:36 AM): please
a temporary sn (1:13:38 AM): use a calculator
EaterofBaby (1:13:44 AM): i'm a man though
EaterofBaby (1:13:47 AM): men don't use calculators
a temporary sn (1:13:50 AM): D:

Just kidding. I think he should do it. It will be epic. I or he will update you in Dec.

I have a friend who got an 800 with a scientific (non-graphing) calculator :)

I’m pretty sure its just called Math II now, which means College Board clearly doesn’t intend for the use of a calculator anymore… ;]

Seriously, while it is epic, and interesting to see the results of doing the test without a calculator, I don’t think it is worth torpedoing his chances at Harvard. I like the suggestion of waiting until applications are out (which should be May, as there is no February or April test date, and March is SAT I only.)

Chill, he’s a man. Men don’t use calculators, especially baby-eating men.

Of course, real men also don’t use pencils. They imprint their answers on the paper psionically.

Hmm. He’s probably trying to compensate for something. I’d watch out.

wow, what kind of school do you go to -__-? apparently some school where people eat babies and take math tests without calculators just to show off and where people get 2300s without studying very much. hahhahhahaha.

as for the calculator thing, just sneak one in his/her pocket on the day of the test. and once they start freaking out then theyll check their pockets and see the calculator that you conveniently left for them, lol.

triple dare him

i forgot my calculator when i took the SAT my first time =(

LOL, when i took the SAT for the first time, my best friend forgot his calculator, and well, since hes not as smart as i am (not trying to brag lol), i let him use my calculator.

seriously, i think im a bad person, cuz that was one of the hardest decisions ive ever made in my life -_-.

triple DOG dare him.

LOL tricky. Something similar happened to me as well. When I took the SAT for the first time, my best friend forgot his brain. So I, being the generous person I am, cut off a third of my brain and let him borrow it for the test.

Clearly so.

do u even need one for the SAT? The PSAT was a breeze without one.

Sir, this is the SAT subjects prep thread, not the SAT reasoning. :)

Apparently for the SAT Reasoning he didn’t use a calculator or allow himself to write down his work. He got one wrong though lolol 790!

yeah, reasoning math is a bit amusingly easy. it wouldnt be surprising if people didnt use calculators or write stuff down and still got 800s (i wouldnt ever try it; im a worrywort and all the extra time makes it fun just to write something down).

but yeah, for subject test math, youd have to like have some bomb estimating skills in conjunction with superior algebra stills to have any hope of getting an 800.

^ Why not bring a calculator? It’s like playing russian roulette but retardedly.

LOL that’s a first xD

Math IIC is kinda really hard without a calculator. For super long equations that involve intense multiplication and what not, it would take him forever! However, on the SAT I, the math is pretty simple… not any intense calculator work involved.
