Hi, I just finished a huge revision on my CommonApp essay and got some feedback from friends and teachers. However, over 1,000 words is definitely way too lengthy. I'm in the process of trimming it down atm. I'm around 850 words currently, but I'd like to see what others believe should or should not be kept in, since the way I have it now seems way too general for my liking. If you are willing to be so kind as to assist me, PM me. Serious offers only! Thanks in advance.

good luck I had the same problem

i’ve finished another revision that’s 801 words. anyone who wants to read it PM me.

I’d love to read it, if you don’t mind a 2014er looking at your essay
I don’t think you have to cut it in half; you probably want to trim a down a little, but 600-700 words sounds fine to me. Mine is around 700.

ehh i’d rather not have a 2014er read it sorry and by cutting in half, i meant cutting my 1000-word version in half, not my new 800-word version. thanks tho.

I’m a 2014er but also a well published writer, or is my age too big an obstacle.

I’d love to give it a read too
