help me decide between 2 essays?

For commonapp:

Essay 1: basically summarizes my impression of new york city as a nine year old immigrant from china. Talks about the restaurants, street signs, people etc. In the end I talk about how I felt optimistic about the future.

Essay 2: talks about the birth of my 3 siblings after i came from china, how the one child policy made me selfish, and how my siblings made me more like a big brother. (do you think this would go well with essay option 2 or "topic of your choice?")

if you would like to read them, I'm only sending to adults/college students.

Thanks!

Bump^^^^^^

Essay 2. Good luck

Thanks for the feedback. Care to tell me why?

bump^^^^^^

I think the second essay would be more interesting and would show more advanced thought.

Thanks. Anyone else?

I think the second essay gives more room for talking about YOUR thoughts. The first seems like a good essay if you want to whip out your descriptive writing skills.

For a college application, I’d go with the second. Do you think you could help me pick between two essays?

Essay 1 could be very engrossing if you’re good at imagery and immersing the reader into New York. Essay 2 would likely turn out more reflective.

I say consider what you’re sending in for the supplement essays, and choose the essay that would show a different side of you. Good luck!
