help me decide between.....

my goal is to become a college professor of english or political science… or a newspaper/online journalist and maybe an editor. i like both careers equally. money isn’t an extremely important factor, but journalists don’t get paid that much and i don’t want to be in too much debt. considering my goals, could you help me decide between a few scenarios:

go to an expensive, small liberal arts school, major in english/political science (schools like vassar and wesleyan) … i think i like this kind of school the best, but it may not be the best option

go to a somewhat prestigious university that does not offer journalism, major in political science or english, receive about half tuition scholarship (tulane)

go to a cheaper university that has a great journalism school but is not that prestigious overall, major in journalism (mizzou)

go to a prestigious, expensive university with a great journalism program, major in journalism (like northwestern, syracuse, or gwu)

options 1 and 2 mean that i will most likely go to grad school for either j school or to get a phd. i would try to write for the school newspaper and get internships in each option

what would be the best idea in your opinion? which option would give me the most flexibility and preparation in regards to my career aspirations?

just to give you some background info so you can recommend a school or something… 30 act, 3.6 uw gpa, top 22% of class, 5 aps by graduation, mediocre ec’s, and great essays and recs

I like #2. It gives you the most flexibility. Seems like very few of the top people in journalism have an undergrad degree in it.
