HELP ME DECIDE: BME at Northwestern or BME at Johns Hopkins

After pretty much all my decisions have come out. BME at Northwestern and Johns Hopkins are my top two options at the moment. I'm really conflicted and need help figuring out which place would be a better fit for the next 4 years of my life.

I intend to either go into the Medical or Dental field after undergrad, which plays a role in choosing which school I end up going to. I know BME is really tough and can take a massive toll on your GPA, which is an important deciding factor in Med School apps. For this very reason, there's also the possibility that I may also switch out of BME and decide to major in Biochem or Bio to preserve my GPA. I know that BME at JHU is #1 in the nation and that it's very prestigious, but that isn't my sole deciding factor. I need to consider how life at the prospective schools would be as I would prefer a more laid-back and relaxing environment with chill people. I also have to consider finances as my parents aren't rich and I can't afford to pay that much for tuition.

32K a year for JHU vs 40K a year for NU (However, I selected NU as my National Merit Finalist School so there's a slight possibility I could get more from them later on?)

Originally I was leaning more towards Northwestern, but BME at JHU seems like so good of an opportunity for a better price that i'm not sure if i can pass it up.

Thanks for the help!

visit. Do not base a life decision on what others here might say as you will be the one living through the end result.

Yeah I’ve planned visit days for both Northwestern’s Wildcat Day and JHU’s SOHOP, but I just wanted the perspectives of others who may know the schools a lot better than I do at the moment.

I can definitely vouch that jhu like nu has people that are chill and people that are intense. You will find your group regardless of where you enroll
