Hello my name is Sam and I am a high school junior at a competitive private high school...I loved Dickinson College and Union College when I visited, but I can't decide between the two. I am very interested in studying spanish probably with business, if that helps...Btw my counselor that these are my matches...

if these colleges are equal in your mind, it probably doesn’t matter they are both good choices. Are you trying to decide whether to apply ED? Maybe consider which one is easiest to get to from where you live, or what the surrounding town is like.

BTW Dickinson does not have much of a town. Not sure about Union.

well actually the town for dickinson is small, but its like in the town, which is cool…union is in kind of a crappy town, but its near skiing in vermont and 45 minutes from my grandparents house, so yeah im trying to decide where for ED…

is one of these schools closer to your home (not your grandparents home)?

if you are interested in spanish, maybe check out their study abroad programs and see if there is a difference.

yeah well the study abroad at dickinson is better, but i didnt feel much of a social vibe, at union they have minervas (u should look it up)!! and i like being near grandparents, plus our family always goes and visits in western mass where they live!!

If I were you I’d look into Skidmore. Skidmore is just a little farther North than Union and has a very nice college town (Saratoga Springs). They also have good study abroad programs. Honestly I don’t hear many people talking about Union why were you attracted to that school in particular?

I just looking up the Minervas. There is something similar at Franklin & Marshall. You might want to check that out too. Lancaster is a better location than Carlisle.

i went to franklin and marshall and i liked it, but not as much…i went to skidmore, loved the programs, town, area, but it just seemed a little too weird, like artsy for me, although it was one my list at one point…i figured out about union at the last second, and my guide was ok, but the campus was so cool, and i just felt like, not necessarily safe, (because it is schnectady) but i felt like it was comfortable for me…bump!!

sounds like you really feel like Union is the best fit; why not plan to go back for a visit in the fall, sit in on some classes, etc just to make sure and if you still like it after that then apply ED

yeah thanks lol if you put dickinson’s programs with all of union’s stuff then I would be in “HEAVEN!!”
