Hey Guyz,
I really need your help in deciding which university to enroll in for Electrical engineering.
I have heard a lot about why UDUb is superior to VT due to the job opportunities and its location near Silicon Valley,etc.
However,for my program VT is ranked much higher.
I’m really confused and have very little idea about this. I cannot go for a campus tour as I am an international student.
Please help
Virginia Tech, if you can afford it.
From what I hear UW caters to international students very well. However for engineering Virginia Tech might be a better option although UW isn’t bad in engineering. Personally I’d go with UW (Campus is beautiful!) but I don’t know too much about Virginia Tech.
@TheDidactic Thanks for the response.
Yes,I can adford it. However,my counselor is recommending UW due to its resources,location,and job opportunities.
I have found a huge difference in the ranking and the reviews of both the schools puzzle me even more.Please ca elaborate why VT ? ( I consider VT too as a better option but many of Friends suggest UW)
@gdlt234 Thanks for the response.
I too love the campus ! It’s beautiful.However,I would not like to attend it if the engineering program is inferior to VT.
Virginia Tech is a very strong school in the STEM field. It will provide you (IMO) a better environment to receive a solid education in engineering.
@Arjun25, UW engineering is not inferior to VT. Both are excellent. Take a look at the various US and international rankings, such as ARWU, MUP, QS, US News, URAP, THER, NTUR, etc., and UW will compare quite favorably.
@OspreyCV22 University of Washington.
