Help me decide whether to standby in January or not for SAT

I am a senior, and can't decide whether I should standby for the SAT in January or not, so I need your help.

Would you retake if:

You had already had a superscore of 2050 (640 CR 730 M 680 W)

Were a senior

It was your third time

You were applying to Cornell, Chicago, Vandy, URochester, UVA, Boston U, Lafayette, Syracuse.

Knew there would be a significant improvement (2150-2250)

It cost you $130 and for standby and about $40-50 for sending scores again?

Wanted to finally shift your focus back to school rather than SATs/college apps etc.

Please help me out. If I am going to be standing by, I want to mention it on my college apps which I would be submitting in a couple of days.

I wouldn’t retake mainly because you’ve taken the test three times already. i think it was on northwestern’s application where i read that they only consider the first two times you take the SAT’s. and thought your not aplying to northwestern, i would think other colleges think similarly. so 4 times would just be too many! also, that is way too much money to have to fork over (for my family and me anyway)!! the only thing that would make me reconsider, however, is the fact that i could possibly score a 2250. but there’s no possible way i could possibly know.

hope you make a wise decision. and good luck!

I’ve taken it twice before, not thrice.

He has score choice so it’s impossible for schools to know, unless you already sent your scores.

I’ve already sent my previous scores but isn’t taking the SAT up to 3 times considered okay?

And come on people, answer up. All I need to know is what you would do and why.

I need to mention it on my app if I am gonna be standing by, so that if I do get a chance they would be aware that I might send new scores.

Depending on your financial situation and based on what you said, it sounds like it can’t hurt to take it again. I’m not a senior and I haven’t even taken the SAT yet, so you might want to wait for an expert response.

if you’re going to see an improvement of 2150-2250, then heck yeah take them again! are you crazy?! Cornell is extremely competitive, I don’t know about the others, but there’s a big difference between 2050 and 2150. Taking the SAT 3 times is usually the acceptable limit. Good luckkk :)

Yeah, I definitely would but it’s mainly the money that is holding me back. Also the fact that my school grades have dropped and I wanna start concentrating on them again.

Think of the greater good. Would spending a few hundred and getting into Cornell be worth it?
