I got into UT as a spring transfer, and I'm not sure what I should do.
Here's my problem: I'm going to be junior this spring (I missed a semester) at UW - Madison. I'm double majoring in Communication Arts (that's our version of Film/TV) and Economics; however I was only able to get into the Economics major at UT because the College of Communications doesn't accept external spring transfers. This means I'm gonna have to transfer internally to the Radio-TV-Film major, and from talking to some advisors for that major, I understand that I have a really good shot, however, I'm pretty sure that if I want to double-major I'm gonna need to take 30 credits in the Econ major before adding RTF as a major. In addition, I'm gonna need to take an extra 24 credits in order to graduate (that means at least one more semester) . I'm also not sure which credits are going to transfer or if they're going to fulfill UT's requirements, or course prereqs.
On the other hand, at UW I only have 3 semesters left before graduating, and I know for sure what I need to do in order to do so on time.
This summer I want to go to LA to intern for a studio or a production company, and this is also where I want to work once I graduate (I'm not interested in becoming a director, I'm more interested in pre and post production, which is why RTF seems like a better fit due to its emphasis on production)
So basically what I'm not sure about is whether the school of communications is going to give me any big advantages that are going to help me with getting a job/internship (through either connections, experience or skills) that I can't get at UW or that are worth spending an extra year in college (and $20,000+)?

I am not sure how good the TV-film major is at either school, but this far along, a transfer as a junior to a major you don't want, is not worth it in my opinion. I don't imagine it would be harder to get an internship coming from UW-M then it would be for UT if you only spend a semester at UT anyways. Unless you know for sure that one program is significantly better than the other, it doesn't seem like its worth 20 grand, and probably another year.
