List is good except for the price of some–I would be tempted to leave off a couple of the more expensive since you seem to have safeties. I’m afraid your parents may want to incur a lot of debt because they like the name better. Just let your parents know that a good name school within the engineering world is what matters—average person on the street does not know about engineering colleges and ABET accredited. Employers will know the schools and that is what counts. Most engineers get paid the same, they don’t sort the new employees by salary depending on what school they went to, everyone gets paid the same. Just having internships, coop or even research will distinguish your resume. Good luck!

@marie122 Yes I will be retaking my ACT in September.

@ncolonna Thank you for your suggestions. I was planning on applying to Rowan only if I get rejected at Rutgers.

@MYOS1634 There are a couple 4 year scholarship that are available at my high school and I believe I have a good shot at them. But thanks for the feedback! :D

Thank you @BrownParent. I have told my parents that, however they are hesitant to believe me and think it is a excuse for me not going to a big name school. I have decided to remove Northeastern University and possibly WPI from my list due to their high cost. I ran the np for Lafayette College and it came out just under 12K and it seems easier to get in so I’m considering it. Thank you for your help

You are doing a really good job doing your ‘homework’. It is nicer to talk these things out sooner than later in the financial aid forum this time of year there are kids who come in when the parents said don’t worry we will take loans and they can’t get the loan and the kid is stuck. Or they realize the loan is too much. Lafayette sounds like a great add.

Thank you @BrownParent ! I started worrying because my cousin is currently having an issue paying for college. Thank you everyone for your generosity!
