My SAT score is 2080. GPA 4.0. I have extensive community theater including leadership positions in it, tons of church/ministry volunteering, hospital volunteering, etc. I'm matched to a lot of schools but my problem is that I want a place with low tuition--I'm looking at maybe $7000 a year after scholarships and I don't want to take out many loans. For instance, Shepherd University in West Virginia, where I'm applying. But I want to know if anyone on here knows of any other inexpensive college, preferably somewhat close to the D.C. area where I am, with a good English program, where I would qualify for good scholarships.

Are you aware that UWV has reciprocity agreements with several other states including Virginia? Take a look at what you need to do in order to qualify and what the cost would be. Usually it means you pay in-state tuition at the OOS U - but it may be restricted by your major or other factors.
I agree on UVA. William and Mary, UMaryland, Washington & Lee, George Washington, American all might be good schools to look into. Georgetown might be a bit expensive as you won’t get much aid.
