Help me find a good college major that best suits me.

I am having trouble finding which major I would like to pursue and have been reading online about different ways to understand how to pick the right one. One way is to write down things you are good at and passionate about/have an interest in. I am going to write some down and if anyone could help me in the right direction with those, it would be much appreciated.

I am good at investigating and research.
I enjoy working outdoors.
I like photography.
I enjoy working with animals.
I like to be independent.
I enjoy going to garage sales/thrift stores and finding things to resell on eBay.
I like to be creative.
I enjoy working out.
I enjoy exploring the outdoors.
Im good at math, but don’t love it.
I like variety in my work/ career path.

Be a Professor of Zoology who travels the world filming documentaries about wild animals for PBS, using antique cameras found on eBay. Great work if you can get it.

You’ll need a Plan B.

Look at degrees offered by Colorado State regarding Natural Resources.

@DTBTSE, my daughter is majoring in photography and that would be her dream job, ha. Fortunately, she understands she needs a Plan B.

Daughter’s close friend majored in Environmental studies and a minor in visual arts, (film), went abroad several times during college on service learning trips and environmental trips. She spent 2 years with the National Park Service, then got a masters, (sorry, I don’t know what the Masters degree is in). She now works for National Geographic.

Seems like you’re make a great biologist!

You can look at naturalist and environmental studies programs that will lead you to a career in the field, also check out programs that offer animal science and places where you can either double major or minor in film. Seek out schools with strong career services programs. Here are some resources: myfwc.com/research/, Federal Agency Outdoor Jobs - Parks Jobs and Forestry Careers, www.nps.gov/aboutus/workwithus.htm.
