Hello,
I want to become an engineer when I grow up, and I really want to find a good engineering college in Chicago (Illinois).

I don't plan on having high expectations on going to something like UChicago, but I really want to get a good engineering education.

Highschool:

GPA: 3.85, and weighted: 4.3

My GPA this year might be reduced because I might get 2 B's, but that's only because of personal issues.

I like to challenge myself, and take hard classes, and I do my work.

ACT/SAT: Don't worry. I'll be sure to study a lot, and get a score in the estimated range of 32-36.
SAT - not sure if i'll take it.

Thank you for taking the time!

I think you might have an outside chance at University of Chicago EA. Realistically University of Illinois Chicago has a solid engineering program. University of Illinois UC has an especially good program, but that is pretty far from Chicago. I think Depaul may have some engineering majors but no true school of engineering. Good Luck!

Thanks!

I will also be planning on taking MBA, so i’m not sure if that helps in anyway.

I also recommend looking outside of the Chicago area. Obviously there are some great schools in and around chicago, but a little further outside, possibly into the midwest and east coast, would greatly increase your options. UT Austin, Michigan, and University of Wisconsin are all sort of in the midwest vicinity and all have good engineering programs.

Why do you want to stay in Chicago? That really, really limits your choices - there are so many good choices for engineering! Northwestern would be a reach but if you score in the 32+ range as you plan to, it may be within reach (just be aware that lots and lots of students plan to get 32+ but since that score is restricted to the top 2% in the country, by definition most don’t reach it).
Have you looked into UIUC? SDSM would be a cheaper option than UIUC or UIC, even in-state, and of course you have UMN-Twin Cities and Wisconsin.
