Help me find a transfer school?

Hey guys!

I am a prospective transfer student, currently a sophomore, and I'm just hoping to get some advice on where I should go next! I am currently at a local state school, majoring in Computer Science, and the reason why I'm here is because I went through a lot in high school and wanted to stay closer to my aunts at the time. During high school, around junior year, I came out as gay and my parents reacted by disowning me. I consequently became homeless for those 2 years. I still managed to get into a few AP classes, and got A's in them and ended my high school career with a GPA of 3.7. Unfortunately, I didn't do to hot on my SATs( 1620 ) and ACTs( 25 ), and I decided to take a gap year and straighten out my life before starting college. In this gap year, I worked and managed to get myself an opportunity to teach english in Brazil ( I'm fluent in portuguese ) and a home with my aunt. I took the opportunity to attend the local state school there, and since then I have maintained a 4.0GPA, been part of research team, coded several independent projects, part of locally run newspaper, tutoring, a member of a non profit organization, and run my own start up company ( which I'm still currently doing). As much as I love the people at this college, this town is just too small and the college just isn't as great as I hoped it would be. It lacks serious funding to research ( I was blessed to get involved in one of the few created ), and the main focus of this college seems to be geared towards making teachers ( everyone here wants to be a teacher! ).I have been contacting my guidance counselor about the possibly of transferring but she never returns my calls and is just difficult to ahold of. So guys, can you help me out? What schools would you recommend me applying to ( preferably urban areas. )?

How much can you afford? Transfer students get very little aid. Home State?

Try Georgia Tech! It has one of the best computer science programs in the world, is really committed to diversity, and is cheaper than a private schoo.l.

I’m not adding a price tag @Gumbymom !

What does that mean, TransferChance? How are you planning to pay for college once you move away from your aunts?

@SiliconValley it means I have enough money in my bank account right now that I’m not concerned with paying for college after I transfer. How much, I would rather not disclose.

Any preference: West Coast/East Coast/Midwest. Small/Large/Public/Private. How many credits will you have by the end of Spring Term? Not all schools will be an easy transfer. Many have specific course requirements that need to be fulfilled prior to transfer and some classes may not be transferable from your current university.
