My school offers no AP's so I have to self-study all that I take. I am planning on taking AP stats because I am in a stats class and I plan on taking AP USH because I am in a US history class. What are some easy AP's that I could self-study?

AP history classes are very easy to study on your own because they are basically all about reading a book and there are no difficult concepts that you would need outside help with. What you get on the exam is basically a factor of how much time you put into studying and how good your writing skills are. If you put in significant effort and you are a good writer, you will get a 5.

I don’t know where you are in terms of math, but AP Calculus AB does not have much content, so if you are generally good at math it will not be too difficult of a self-study. Strong algebra/pre-calc knowledge is essential, particularly things like trig need to be mastered if you are going to excel in calc.

AP Psych is a must for self-studiers because the concepts are very easy. You could also take the AP of the science class you are in, but only if you excel in science because AP Chem, Physics, and Bio are considered pretty difficult.

Ok, Thanks! I am in honors physics, but from what I am told, the class does not help at all with AP physics. I am only in precalc and I am not great in math so I will avoid AP Calc. What are some Social Science/ English based AP’s that are easy for self-study? I think I will take AP Psych. How much studying is necessary for a 5?

I started self-studying for psych January 28th for the 2010 test. I’d never taken a class, never opened a book, etc. I used Barron’s and 5 Steps to a 5. I also took some actual practice tests. It got me a full mark.

I should add that Barron’s can be used exclusively, it helped me the most. Like every question on the test I knew the answer to because of Barron’s.
