Help me find colleges/Financial aid ideas

<p>Hello there! I need a little bit of help with a few things...like finding colleges that match my school performance and passions.</p>

<p>Located in Georgia and Senior at McIntosh High School (blue ribbon college prep school)
UW GPA: 3.4 W GPA: 3.6
SAT: 620 Reading, 670 Math, 560 Writing (I'll retake)
ACT: 28
Interested in: Music Business, Film, Music, International Business, Journalism
Extracurriculars: Tennis, Jazz Band
Work experience: Yard work every summer and Guitar teacher for a year
Volunteer work: Volunteer at my church 5-8 hours a week, volunteered for Guitars Not Guns program (taught music/guitar to at-risk youth), and mission trip to Brazil
AP: I have AP US History credit and I am taking AP English and AP Macro/Gov this year.
Passion for music, travel, helping people, teaching (kinda), and mission work </p>

<p>I live in Georgia and my parents really don't want to shell out the dough for a really expensive out of state school so it would be nice if you guys could name schools that accept the HOPE or waive out of state tuition ALONG WITH just any school regardless of cost.</p>

<p>Also, ANY financial aid advice!</p>

<p>My list right now is (starting with my favorites first and regardless of tuition):
Belmont University, UT@Austin, Florida State, Auburn, GSU, UGA, Berry, MTSU, KSU</p>

<p>It's sort of hard to talk to my parents about this and my most of the friends who are on my level academically also have music and athletic scholarship opportunities to many of their favorites schools. Any advice or conversation will help.</p>

<p>Take a look at Chapman University in Orange, CA</p>

<p>South Carolina is #1 in International Business and is very good with merit money/instate tuition. James Madison (VA/ Music Business/Industry major) might be worth a look also.</p>

OP, Why do you have UT (for example) on your list when you can’t afford it? With the Hope scholarship you should definitely be looking at options in-state (besides UGA and GSU).</p>

<p>Just for the sake of it, really. I know I wouldn’t be able to go there I just had it as a “reach”. The school’s music program, internship opportunities, and the atmosphere of Austin is ideal for me. Its just a shame it costs so much.</p>

<p>Oh and add 2 years of School Newspaper/Journalism to Extracurriculars</p>

<p>Look at Flagler College. It is a lower cost private school, and also offers a lot of good aid. It might be a good match for you.</p>
