Help me find colleges? Please?

i've gotten very scared that the schools i've been looking at won't accept me, so i need some help finding more schools.

my current list includes
-rice -emory
-trinity university (this one will accept me)
-u. chicago

my ACT composite is a 31, my GPA unweighted is a 90/100. My ECs are okay, my recommendations and my essay should be great.

I am looking for a small or medium sized school with students who genuinely love learning. I'd prefer a school with a fairly strong academic reputation but that's not absolutely necessary. Location is not super important but I'm not a fan of New England, so let's stay out of that area. And finally I'd like a campus that is not uber conservative (a split campus is fine, I just don't want to be the lone liberal in a sea of conservatives).

Thanks!

You should look at some LACs such as Grinnell, Pomona, Kenyon, and Vassar. Johns Hopkins and Carnegie Mellon may be of interest as well. University of Rochester and Ohio Wesleyan are two more choices that maybe a little bit easier to get into.

You might also want to consider Bryn Mawr-if you are female. It is a women's college but cooperates with Haverford so that the environment has many coed opportunities. Definitely attracts "love of learning" types and has a strong community atmosphere with a large numbe of graduates going on to receive Ph.Ds.

Just curious--what is that you don't like about New England?

It's cold almost all the time and it is harder to get home from there than other places....although if you have suggestions that are in New England I'd still love to hear them! Location isn't the most important thing to me.

U Chicago can be very cold and windy! If it is hard for you to get home from New England, you might benefit from the geographic diversity factor if you go there.

Take a look at Brandeis University. Many strong departments and an intellectual atmosphere.Transportation to Boston's Logan Airport is fairly easy. If you are not Jewish, you will also benefit from the ethnic diversity factor at Brandeis.
