Right now my college list looks like this:
Villanova
George Washington (Reach)
Rutgers (safety)
University of Maryland
Northeastern

I either want to major in criminal justice (FBI) or business. HELP ME!

Anyone? please

One school you will have very likely not heard of that might serve your interests is Westfield State College in Westfield, MA. Their criminal justice dept. is well respected in state (I don't know how a degree from there plays outside of MA). It is a state school and very few students are from outside of MA (like less than 10%), so I don't know if it's harder to get in as OOS, but otherwise it seems like it would be a safety for you.

And you could look into American Univ. in Washington, DC. I don't know if they have a criminal justice program but they do have a business prog. (and you would be in Washington, close to the FBI, so perhaps you could work out a special major and internship). I think your numbers would make it a match for you.

Otherwise, I think your list looks pretty good.

It looks like a good list so far. Why would u think GWU is a reach? I see it more as a match/safety for u but well thats my op.
ANywyas here are ther possibilities:
Northeast:
- Boston U
- American
- Boston College
- NYU

South:
- South Carolina
- NC State
- University of Florida
- Tulane
- University of Miami

Midwest:
- Indiana
- Ohio State
- Michigan State
- Purdue

West:
- Texas A&M
- UCSB
- Washington

btw u dotn need a criminal justice degree to work in FBI. visit their website and go to carreer opportunities. They show u how diversified they are in employment. They employ, Translators, doctors, psychologists, accountants, other business majors, technology majors, engineers, architects. endless opportunities with w.e major u could think of.

An off the wall idea, but take a look at the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY.

You will get a first hand understanding of the bedrock of international business -- shipping and logisitics. You will spend a year at sea http://www.usmma.edu/life/sea/default.htm and have a broad background that will make you attractive to the FBI.

You don't have to go active duty. You can serve in the Reserves (any branch) and work anywhere in the US Maritime industry.

They also have a great band.

Its worth a look. www.usmma.edu

yea forgot to mention, Service academies (I think u can call them that :P) would be an excellent idea. their not easy to get into but if u want to work in the FBI it might not be such a bad idea.

If you want to work for the FBI as a special agent, you should take a look at what skills and background they want http://www.fbijobs.gov/1111.asp (And see also http://www.fbijobs.gov/12.asp) As you'll see, it is not coursework in criminal justice.

your ranked 13th and your reach is GWU? at my school the 130th ranked kids match is GWU

Westfield State is not an appropriate choice. It is not highly regarded even in the state. The FBI is not as interested in criminal justice majors as they are in agents with a particular academic skill, such as accounting or computer science.

I'd recommend retaking your SATs (if you haven't already). Those are definitely a bit of a problem on your application as it currently stands. The following schools have either a Business or Criminal Justice major....

SEMI-REACH: Loyola University in New Orleans (LA), Skidmore College (NY), University of Maryland College Park (MD)

GOOD FIT: Belmont University (TN), Butler University (IN), Clark University (MA), Drexel University (PA), Elon University (NC), Fordham University (NY), Loyola College in Maryland (MD), Mercer College (GA), University of Delaware (DE), University of Florida (FL)

LIKELY: Duquesne University (PA), Michigan State University (MI), Penn State University Park (PA)

Have you looked into studying abroad?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=351688

Do I have a chance to get into Villanova? That's my #1 choice right now.

off course u do! u might even get some scholly money.

Good shot at all of those. I think UMD would be the most difficult OOS. Doubt you get any money at Nova.
