Help me find more matches and safeties!!

It’s televised more often than that, but college hockey gets more exposure, and we’re always upset at how bad the exposure is for college hockey.

Maybe not exact “hits” for all your criteria, but what about the University of Michigan or University of Wisconsin? A little big and not NE (but not the south or west, either), but Urbanish, big football and hockey (don’t know about baseball), great academics, and your ec’s may not hurt you quite as much at a bigger university. And, while not inexpensive for OOS, not as pricey as many of the privates (although FA may not be great).
Don’t know - just throwing a couple of other ideas out there.

I wouldn’t call UM or UW ‘urbanish’. UM is going to cost ~$46,000 a year. UW is much more affordable.

Might want to look at Holy Cross-strong academics and school spirit. HC has nice campus in a mid-size city 1 hour from Boston. Holy Cross has rich athletic history-NCAA basketball and baseball titles in Div1. HC plays both Harvard and Boston College in many sports.

HC also has an okay hockey team.

“diontechristmas - My top three sports are baseball, football, and hockey (in that order) which is why I like BC (even though they might not be the best at any of them).”

BC has won 2 national championships in hockey in this decade, so they’re about as good as it gets in college hockey these days.

OK, maybe Ann Arbor is not totally “urbanish,” but Madison feels that way to me (I have been to both). It is not NYC, DC, or Boston, but still has a lot going on - lots of vibe, restaurants, the state capitol, concerts, sports, 9-12 story buildings, bus system, etc… It does not feel at all like many of the more isolated campuses we visited. It is also significantly less costly that UM. (Disclosure: my son just started as a freshman - OOS - at UW). We live on the East Coast, and I have visited a number of college campuses…other than the true city campuses (Pitt, CM, GW, NYU, BU, Drexel, etc…), Madison (and even Ann Arbor) are fairly “busy” places with a broad range of offerings and access. Again, it may not be the right fit for the OP, but just throwing out a couple of different thoughts.

A couple of photo shots of Madison:

They still suck, especially their fans. Go BU!

BU is so so sad. You gotta love people who’s idea of sports on the grassy quad is wiffleball on Comm Ave, with first base the rusty stop sign, second base the oncoming trolley car, and third base the overflowing trash container at the Taco Bell across the street.

I dont know how to respond to that, but um, okay?

Tufts (might be a bit of a reach), Northeastern, George Washington Univ., Trinity (the one in Connecticut), Providence College, University of Pittsburgh, Syracuse
