Help me find my dream school

1-Good program in psychology or cognitive science
2-Being in a big city or near a big city
3-Not super cold weather (i dont mind snowy winters, but i really hate very very cold places)
4-I'm more of a music artsy guy than a football athletic guy, so i want a more artsy type school
5-I dont care if its Liberal art college or University
6- 2.000-20.000 students
(7-Good Dorms)
(8-Beautifull Campus)

GPA: 3.4-3.5
SAT: 2100

Go!

Finances? …

Rhodes may be a reach with your GPA but your SAT helps. It may be slightly too small (1800 students this fall). Otherwise, it’s got good psych and neuroscience majors with a few cognitive folks, it’s in the heart of Memphis, winter lows are typically around 30*, the art scene is definitely stronger than the football scene, good dorms and a beautiful campus.

Reed College in Portland!!!

We need more info… :)

What state are you in?

How much will your family pay?

If you need financial aid, do you know how much you’ll qualify for?
(Also, most schools don’t meet need.)

Is that your weighted GPA? What is your ranking?

(I think the GPA might be too low for Reed. Rhodes or College of Charleston might be good. Tulane - but GPA might be too low.)

Actually, i’m applying as an international student (the reason its not the international section is because its a college search thread)
My GPA is 3.5 , in my country, Greece, there is no such thing as AP or Honored courses, so there’s no weighted-unweighted grades. But if you would like a “translation” of my grade to usa’s grading system, my grade would be 3.5 unweighted. Also, keep in mind, that since the educational system is much different , admission officers rely more on the SAT’s . The grading system is just really really different here.
I dont want any financiall aid, my family can pay all freight (up to 40.000$ a year tuition, and that may give me a slight boost against other internationals that need aid)

Up to $40,000 will limit you somewhat, although there are many excellent schools with costs of attendance at that or lower.

what i mean is 40.000$ TUITION only, not the whole cost . Seriously, how many colleges are there that have tuition over 40k?Max cost i’ve seen is 42k

I was thinking UCSB? or UMiami? USanFrasisco? URochester? they seem really cool places.

Rochester is a top-flight school but might be a bit cold for your preferences. They do have an extensive underground tunnel system that links many of the buildings, though.

University of Puget Sound in Tacoma next to Seattle. It is a largish LAC, meaning about 2,000 students.

Why not just google ‘best undergraduate psychology programs in the US’ and see what comes up. There are lots of rankings but certain schools will appear on most lists - then look for those in urban areas. And check the common data set for each school.

Here’s an example: [Ranking of U.S. Undergraduate Psychology Programs](Ranking of U.S. Undergraduate Psychology Programs)

When you find a few that sound good, come back and ask about the culture- more artsy vs. more athletic.

Vassar College, 80 miles north of NYC? Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota would be great if you could handle the winter.

University of Oregon sounds right up your alley–I go there and psych is a big deal. UC Santa Barbara would be good too, but it might be a bit of a reach with your GPA.

I really like Vassar college… i mean allot, but sadly enough i wont be taking SAT Subject tests. Just the SAT I
