I'm looking for good schools in the North and South Carolina region- preferably with a strong physical therapy or health science program, roughly 10,000-20,000 undergrad students, D1 or D2 athletics, not particularly religious affiliated.
My family is making a trip to the east coast over spring break so I'll get a chance to visit a couple schools, does anyone have any recommendations? I greatly appreciate any input:)

Davidson
Duke
Wake Forest
Clemson
UNC
NC State

Winthrop
Appalachian State
ECU
Furman
Wofford
UNC-Asheville
UNC-Charlotte
High Point
UNC-Greensboro
College of Charleston

That's a range of ALL kinds of schools.

Is there a reason you didn't include UNC-Chapel Hill?

I did. I just wrote 'UNC'.

oooh i see it now:)

Physical therapy programs are relatively rare. You'll need a Master's anyway, though, so majoring in PT for undergrad isn't extremely important.

These schools might be of interest, given your criteria:

I would also recommend NC State and UNC Chapel Hill, as diontechristmas suggested. In fact, they should probably be at the top of your list.

App State and UNCG also have programs, but I purposely excluded them -- ASU because it's difficult to get to for an OOS student (nearest airport is 1.5 hours away) and UNCG because it's somewhat of a commuter school and clears out on weekends.

I couldn't find much selection in the health sciences at NC state but i love raleigh!

Be sure to check out ECU. It has an intergrated Physical Therapy/Exercise Physiology degree (DPT/BS) plus lots of other degrees in Health Sciences. ECU has a Med. sch, a brand new Heart Institute,a Physician's Asst. program, just broke ground on a new Dental Sch. There are lots of opportunities in the health science majors at ECU.
