Hi! I was hoping I could get some help finding more colleges that are safeties/matches for me.
I am a rising senior, an asian female, from the northeast, and go to a top 10 public school in my state. I’m thinking about majoring in Computer Science or Business. I would like to stay in the Northeast/New England Region.
I think the weakest part of my application is my grades. I know grades are extremely important so I just don’t want to be too idealistic with my colleges. My grades are mixture of As and Bs, as well as a couple Cs. The Cs were in Physics Honors, Biology Honors, and Geometry Honors.
GPA: 3.9 weighted
SAT: 1420/1600 – 700 Math and 720 RW. I’m working on pushing this higher.
APs: 4- AP Lang, 4-AP CompSci, 3- APUSH; I’ve taken only honors/AP classes throughout HS. The only APs that I was offered that I didn’t take were the AP science courses.
ECs; Student Council President (4 years), Red Cross President (4 years), Females United President (2 years), Martial Arts- Black Belt (4 years), Human Values Teacher (5 years), MUN Chair & Delegate (4 years), and Peer Leadership (3 years).
Robotics Solution Winner (Regional)
US Army Essay Winner (2nd place, regional)
A bunch of MUN awards (regional, international, and state)
Colleges:
RIT, Rutgers, UMass Amherst, NJIT, Fordham, Syracuse, Stevens, Northeastern, BU, and as an EXTREME reach maybe Wellesley? Any opinions on college’s compatibility with me would be great. For what it’s worth, at least a couple students from my district with lower GPAs than me have gotten into the above colleges. Any advice would be wonderful! Thank you
