Hi everyone! I'm looking for matches/safeties based on these stats:

Rising senior
GPA: 4.0 uw/approx. 4.5 w (not sure exactly because of how my school weights)

SAT I (first time, no prep): 2000 (CR:750 M:630 W:620) I'm retaking this in October and based on practice tests I'm expecting a 250 point improvement. But match with the current score please.

SAT II (no prep): World History: 740, US History: 730, Literature: 690 In November I'm taking Biology-M and possibly retaking Literature. My November scores will be sent directly to my early schools.

AP's: Psychology (5), World History (5), US History, Chemistry, English Language & Composition (TBD)

Senior Schedule: AP English Literature & Composition
AP Comparative Government & Politics
AP Calculus BC
AP Biology
AP Spanish Language
AP Human Geography
Advanced Composition 2 (advanced writing class)

State: VA (northern VA)
Gender: Female
Ethnicity: White
School type: large, mediocre public
Income bracket: upper middle class, financial aid would be greatly appreciated but is not absolutely required

I'm looking for liberal arts colleges or small to medium sized universities on the northern half of the East Coast. (VA and north) I want to attend an academically focused school with a strong sense of community that puts equal emphasis on both the humanities and science/math.

What about Dickinson? My D had test scores about like yours, grades a bit lower. She got very good merit aid. I’m going to guess from your user name that you are female – Smith might be a good match. Or Mount Holyoke if your scores don’t go up much. Oberlin (not quite east coast, but not that far…) is strong in sciences and humanities.

If you are upper middle class you’re not looking for FA, you’re interested in merit aid. Look at U Dayton. They have assured scholarships and have enacted a fixed price plan. No cost increases while you are in school.

College of William and Mary - In-state option. Very close-knit community. Mid-sized college. Known for having very academically minded students.

Vassar College - Smaller size. Very liberal. Located in NY. Very strong activist culture on campus. Everyone knows everyone else.

Haverford College - If you are willing to go small - this is about as small as it gets. Students are very academically focused. Tight-knit community. Very active campus culture.
