“Do I need to complete separate applications for the APIASF and GMS Scholarship?
Yes. You must complete BOTH applications in order to be considered for the APIASF and GMS Scholarships.”

I didn’t find out about the GMS Scholarship until today…would I still be able to apply to the APIASF if I didn’t apply for the GMS and just be considered for the APIASF?

Ok, thanks. I was super bummed about not knowing about the GMS before :\ … and I had the impression that scholarships like the APIASF was under it – jw, do you know what the scholarship amounts are for the APIASF is?

Wherever you are applying to schools, check their FA policies regarding “outside scholarships.” The school may reduce your gift aid (grant dollars) by the amount of the outside scholarship you have won, thereby not making any difference in the amount of money you are expected to pay.

Some schools may take an outside scholarship and apply it towards your loans & not touch your gift aid. (Grant Dollars-Institutional Funds) So, before you write a whole bunch of essays, look at the outside scholarship policy of all the schools you applied to.
