Help me find some target schools?

jkeil911 if I were to break 600 on my next try would that fix that?

At the schools listed by jkeil it’d be okay although I wouldn’t recommend Rutgers-Camden in terms of environnment.

well, in my earlier estimates I took your SAT and divided by three to get a ballpark for your M score, so yeah a 600+ would be a help. In addition to a one-day/one-test performance, helpful to the admissions officer would be an indication that you’re stronger in math than the 540 suggests.

What math courses have you completed in h.s.? what courses will you take this year? what grades have you rec’d in the courses you’ve completed?

jkeil911 I’m going to a tutor with a very good reputation in a wealthy area of my state so hopefully that will be able to put me above or at the 600 mark, although I know it’s difficult. But to answer your question, this year I willl be taking honors pre-calc. I’ve always gotten good math grades (94+ in all terms so far) but the level of the classes has been just basic level math. Will that be a decent indication? Also would it help if I apply for a degree in an area of business that doesn’t have a heavy math focus then pick up minors/ switch to others?

I’m surprise no one has suggested GWU yet. It has all that you’re looking for. It seems like a good fit for you, it’s kind of in mid match/high match territory.

A 600+ and your history of standard h.s. math will be fine for most business schools if you’re getting As and Bs. But be prepared to take Calc I and II freshman year if you want to do any quant or compsci work. Business school admission seems to me to have become more difficult in the last 15 years.

enigmaticescape my parents suggested GWU, I felt like it was out of my league. Was I wrong?

jkeil911 good to know. I asked about all my colleges cause if I ony put one people would tell me I’m in the wrong section, but really my favorite by far so far has been Boston University… Planning on doing early decision (unless somethig like suggestions I find on this forum change my opinion) does that sound like it could be possible acceptance?

If you’re crazy about BU and think it’s where you want to be for four years, and since you are full pay, why not apply ED. You could be done with all the craziness of waiting to get in long before most people. Then your problem becomes staying motivated so that your grades don’t drop.

jkeil911 do you think I would really have a difficult time keeping my grades up and staying on top of things there?

I don’t have enough data. Take one thing at a time, OP. Work hard to prep for the SAT and take it from there. It’s a process. Do the best you can at every step and you will have no regrets and you’ll probably have lots to be proud of.

jkeil911 I appreciate the insight. Thank you very much for all your info.
