I'm currently a Junior in Florida, I'm starting to look at schools but I need some help with some here in Florida. I would really love to go our of state but my parents can't really afford it and don't really want me to leave. My mother mentioned Full Sail University to me but what I've heard about that school isn't so great but she really seems to think so. Any input about it? Also if anybody could list other programs at schools other than FSU. Thanks!

Run from Full Sail. They will take your money (and a lot of it). An OOS public school or instate LAC with scholarships may turn out cheaper than Full Sail. They might try to get you to pay for the whole program up front, and offer you not much in return. Search on this forum and you will find a lot of warnings. I don’t know much about film, but I know FSU has an excellent program. You might also look into UCF. They might have something.

Full Sail is a for-profit university, so I try to stay away form that if I were you. FSU has THE film school in the state, and one of the best in the world, but admittance is extremely tight. If I were you, look into UCF, since they have a decent program (not too shabby, but not even in the same sport as FSU), and apply for Ringling if you have an animation skew.
