Help me from falling asleep.

<p>This semester I'm overloading on courses, because I need to. I'm not a coffee hot drinks person so whats the best remedy to keep me from falling asleep when I need to study for some tests.</p>

<p>staying off CC and finishing earlier so you can sleep.</p>

<p>have a friend call you every hour and scream "WAKE UP AND GET BACK TO WORK!!!"... seriously, it works.</p>

<p>CHOCOLATE!!!!!!! Hey, it's got caffeine. Dark chocolate is best. Seriously, don't overwork yourself for hours straight, you'll just wear yourself out. Take a break, walk around. Have something to eat or drink like cheese and crackers, an apple, fruit juice, etc...</p>

<p>When you get back to work, you will feel more awake and will have more energy to do what you need to do.</p>

<p>Then, it would be logical to have the friend of the friend call you directly rather than call your friend, correct? But, who will keep the friend of your friend awake? The friend of the friend of your friend? But, it would be logical to have the friend of the friend of the friend call you directly rather than call the friend of your friend, who would in turn call your friend, who would then call you. </p>

<p>But, who will keep the friend of the friend of the friend awake? ;)</p>

<p>you wouldn't want the friend of the friend of the friend to directly call you, because you might not know that person, and you probably don't want a complete stranger calling you all night. and just make sure somewhere down the calling line there's a friend of a friend etc. who doesn't ever actually sleep.</p>

that's EXACTLY what I do every time I try to study! and why I never get much done!</p>

<p>I have found the solution. I believe they call it a timer. :D Set it to 10 minutes. If you fall asleep, it'll ring and you'll wake up. If you don't fall asleep, then you'll turn it off, and put it back to 10 minutes and continue about your business for 10 minutes, unless you fall asleep, in which case you would wake up in 10 minutes because 10 minutes previously you had set the timer to go off 10 minutes in the future. :)</p>

<p>You could start your work in school. During lunch if you don't have any ECs, start your homework (or do the homework due later that day). You could also do work on the ride to and from school. During free time in class instead of socializing, do work. On the weekends, get ahead in reading and bookwork instead of having fun. Instead of double checking a test for the umpteenth time, turn it in earlier and start working on other stuff.</p>

<p>You need motivation aka money.</p>

<p>College Confidential is a double-edged sword. On one side, you'll gain invaluable knowledge about college admissions that could put you miles ahead of your competition. On the other hand, you'll find yourself fighting to stay away and may fall behind in your studies and (gasp!) the applications themselves!</p>

<p>...but even a timer doesn't provide the motivation a friend would. especially a friend motivated by a friend who is motivated by a friend, who is etc.....</p>

<p>Perhaps we should combine the two! Yes, lets.</p>

<p>We shall have a timer which shall tell your friend when when to call you.
Or, we can have a friend tell the timer when to go off. :D</p>
