So I entered my University as a Fellow in a program called Management Fellows. The program had little requirements the first semester besides a few required lectures and a high minimum GPA (which I fulfilled). However, I was sick and missed a lecture, and was assigned a paper which I basically forgot about during finals week. This led to my dismissal from the program, but I was told I just had to attend the lectures and maintain a high GPA and I would be readmitted as a lateral entry student.

Fast forward to second semester. I only went to a few lectures - I figured I would rather maintain my high GPA and go to less speakers. This was a mistake, as I found in my reentry interview. (I did also take part in a required group project and was told I did an exceptional job.) My interviewer (the program head) basically said he was surprised I was reapplying because I didn't go to many lectures. He said they did not want people who did the bare minimum. This was not my intention, I really wanted to make sure I kept my grades up (not doing so would automatically kill my chances). Now I am freaking out and I don't think I'll be readmitted! He said they would discuss my profile/stats and send me a letter over the summer.

I was just wondering if you guys have any tips on things I should do to better my chances? Should I go in to talk to him? Sorry if this was a confusing/messy post!

-Should I send the head an email or something?
-Should I go in and talk to him again?

I go to a smaller university (3-4k students) and he would remember who I am etc etc.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, as I am very worried about my readmission prospects. I think this is my only chance for lateral entry. I have until the end of this coming week - after finals week I'll be leaving campus and the next communication I'll have with him is my acceptance/denial. Usually the program entry isn't very selective, the requirements weed people out. I never thought I would be one of them. :'(
