hey. Its stella again. I posted here about being waitlisted at colgate. I sent them a letter of explanation, but I havent heard back. What can i do, and do I have a chance?
Consider Smith College.
Don’t expect to hear back until final decisions are made. As you noted in another post your first semester grades might be problematic. All you can do is wait it out like everyone else.

nothing is going to happen with your application until after May 1. Nothing happens to the waiting list at schools until they see the acceptances that come in. May 1 is the deadline. If this is your #1 choice, you should be prepared to possibly wait for an answer till the summer - it happens late sometimes with schools.
Now, waiting list is a crapshoot. Hopefully you are high on the wait list. Talk to your counselor is your first priority. See if there is a way you can find out what number you are on the list, and how many, traditionally, Colgate takes from the waitlist.
If you are in the possible range from past years, you will really need to show your interest in the school. Any great accomplishments, updates, great 3rd quarter grades send to Colgate along with a letter how Colgate is your number 1 choice.
