I dont think the SAT is for me though.. I think i want to take the ACT and i have scored well on two practivce tests 30-33 Composite because I like the syle of questions the ACT offers and science is my thing which really helps

what would be my chances with the proposed ACT score and where i stand write now with the SAT score
for
Rice( 1st choice) and its BA/MD , Baylor, Washington University in St. Louis and its BA/ MD program, Drexel BA/BS/MD program, Duke, Notre Dame, Harvard???( ya i know but you need one impossibility write),Emory, Vanderbilt

well you can always take the sat again. i would if i were you.

i think you'll get into a lot of those schools becasue you have a decent academic record and you seem proactive about school... also because you are an underrepresented minority. well, that may rub you the wrong way, but its a fact that gives you an advantage over others.

dont retake biology sat II. honestly colleges care little about SATII's, and the difference between a 740 and 800 is barely calculable. i retook the physics SATII becasue i got a 710, and the second time around i got a 760, but the time i spent studying for that would have been much better used on homework or perfecting my admissions essays. i would definitely spend the time on SAT I instead. much much much more important.

good luck!

my schools are kinda the same.....theres a big difference between you ACT and SAT score... i thin that if you explain in a letter what happened that day ...youll be alright..but take the ACT.....

I think you got a good mix of reaches and matches.....I got into Rice this year and I know people who got perfect scores and got rejected and two people with scores lower than you and got accepted....but you have good SAT 2 scores....

the thing is that im very active in debate and because of this i cant take the SAT that much.... in fact Im already signed up to take the SAT German test and Bio... i projected a 740 but havent taken it yet .....which is the October test date...my national contest is on the november test date and one of the biggest debate tournaments that has national recognition is on the december test date.... i wanted to turn in all my applications in the second week of December...but if i take the ACT I can take it 4 times next year because it doesnt conflict with my tournament schedule... or the start of the basketball season.....

AP scores... I gave in to CB...
Bio 5 (AHHHHHHH)
English 4 (AHHHHH!!!! I was really happy about that score)
USH 5 (AHHHH)

good job on ap's, but honestly they won't help you get into colleges. they will only help you place out of classes once you get there. if you have absolutely no time in your schedule to retake the sat or the act, i think you should write the letter. and cross your fingers.

but at least you're urm.

thanks for the feedback ky9742 and lingotjuice

anxious... bumpity bump bump

If you're gonna take the ACT you don't need SAT Subject Tests.

You have good grades, great EC's (very deep in Debate, shows passion), you should get a good ACT score, and you're a URM.

Rice - Low Match
Baylor - Safety
Washington University in St. Louis - Match
Drexel - Safety
Duke - Match
Notre Dame - Match
Harvard - Reach (but attainable, you have better credentials than you think)
Emory - Safety
Vanderbilt - Match

I think you get in everywhere maybe a reject from Harvard but I think you can get in there too. imo you could get into at least half of HYPS maybe more. GL =D

anyone else have an opinion...

bump (10 chars)

No way did you get a 219 PSAT and an 1860. Even if you skipped a section...

why couldn't the OP have gotten a 219 or 1860?

Um she skipped section 8,9, and 10. That is around 300 pts there. I believe her. You have a great shot at all your schools. But you seriously have to retake the SAT or take an ACT. You are in a better shape than you think, especially if you nail a 33 ACT or 2200 SAT, I seriously think you'll be in at least 3 of HYPS. GL. Also, your name is boyhood and you're a girl...that's pretty weird.

yeah...im kinda weird like that... thanks... im taking theact for sure hopefully the sat

lets revive my sisters chance thread shall we....
