HELP ME..I wanna transfer :]

I am currently a freshmen at CAl State Long Beach, AND I AM COMPLETELY MISERABLE!!!!!

even after the 3 short months I've spent here, I've found that Long Beach is definitely not the place for me. I have absolutely no motivation to do well academically here.. due to NO social life [BIG commuter school], and I feel like I am just surrounded by people who have no desire to excel academically...This feeling must have rubbed off onto me too because I am doing really poorly this semester, barely pulling through...

I want to transfer out ASAP...I cannot picture myself spending the next 4 years here :[ ....my top choices are UCLA, UCI and USC...USC being my first choice because they offer lower division transfers. I dont want to wait until my junior year, but if thats what it takes, then I will...

As previously stated, Im doing very poorly...probobly barely getting by with a 3.0 ...However, next semester I plan on taking more units and raising my GPA... I am a female, asian, english-second language student if that means anything at all.. And I work 25-30 hours a week..I also received my Gold Award in Girl Scouts last year[if that even helps].. oh and Im a business management major..

Can anyone offer me any advice or information?! Anything is appreciated..even encouragement :] Thanks a bunch and wish me luck!!

It's going to be extremely difficult transferring into UCLA/USC business major with a 3.0 GPA - practically no chance.

Look into transferring to a California Community College, there you will be in a different environment, and hopefully can pull off a good GPA. By doing this you will be setting yourself for a better chance to transfer.

Good Luck.

maybe you should ask yourself why you are so miserable there?

find something good about the university, and get involved. i'm sure there are many things you can do to get involved, that can make you feel more attached to the university.

then ask yourself how will going to another school make your college experience better?

if its worth it do it! just work really hard.
