<p>I'm not in college yet, but I am interested in finance and I might want to enter the IB field (not known yet). I would like to keep my options open after I graduate so that I can go down a few paths (not just one or two). Can someone give me some insight into other career aspirations and the academic requirements for these (I mean financial-type careers, maybe quants, consulting, etc).</p>
<p>I am pretty strong academically, and I'm interested in economics, finance, etc.
However, I definitely want to pursue a major that is somewhat math intensive. I like math, and I'm pretty good at it. My sibling is majoring in economics, but he only had to take two math classes to fill his requirements, and I definitely want more than this. </p>
<p>Are there any majors/dual majors/ major-minor combinations that may interest me? Economics major/math minor? Finance major/ CS minor? I do not want to head down the engineering path necessarily, since I do not want to work as an engineer for my life (doesn't seem something I would want to do for the rest of my life). </p>
<p>Obviously I am going to do a lot more research, but I want some solid footing first.</p>
