I want to study history wars, the way army was thinking when they made certian decisions. I focus on the 30s-40s WW1- WW2 (WW2 buff). I need to make a list of colleges to check out with good history dept. that I could major in and become a museum director, a college professor, a teacher the list goes on. I am open to different careers a history major could bring me. Thanks.

Sorry for grammar was in a hurry to make this post. Busy lately.

Several colleges/universities were suggested in the other thread you posted. What did you think of those, and what else would you be looking for?

BC…

As someone stated on your earlier post, you have to be careful that you’re not preparing for a hobby. It’s one thing to get your undergrad in history and perhaps do grad work in a more specialized area, but it’s doubtful that an undergrad degree that has an emphasis in the history of wars will prepare you for a career. I would think that a museum director, etc, would have a graduate degree.

That said, Is money no object? What are your stats? What is your home state? How much can your parents contribute towards your schooling each year?

yea they were great actually I was just posting a similiar post in a different thread to see if I could pull in more ideas.

I plan on taking it futher getting a Masters and such. Every Historian etc etc… has a focus point (specialty) on whatever may be in a certian time period or place.

I also forgot to add I have yet still to take my SAT I will be doing that the next SAT period I have to do so. I have scored past college reading levels during lower grade aswell. That probably doesn’t help much right now since I need to take my SATs. My homestate is PA that is why Carnegie Mellon is a big focus for me because home state is cheaper and they have an excellent history dept. My parents are willing to help as much as they can we are not very money happy though so I have been looking into loans.
