Help me make a decision! Please :)

Okay. It's about whether or not I should drop my AP Art History class. I signed up for the class, thinking I'll get an "easy" A cause my AP Art History teacher told me it is one of the easiest AP classes. So I guessed why not? And I now that in actually in it, I practically FAIL EVERY TEST! okay I'm exaggerating, but my worst score was a C-? I usually get a C on the tests, but I've never gotten an A before!!! I have no idea... Is it gonna get better/easier? Anyone think I should drop out... And be in regular Art History? If so tell me why/why not? The tests are WAAAAY TO HARD :(

My grade:
(worth 60% of my grade) Tests/quizzes/essays ----> 80%
(worth 40% of my grade)
Homework/Classwork----> 100%

So overall I have an 87.8% in the class.

Please answer me. I need a decision… I’m looost :(

If you think your poor grades are due to lack of preparation, then STUDY. If not, then maybe you should drop it. No one can make this decision for you.

How would I study for ap art history test??? I jut read the chapter? The teacher doesnt give us anything to prepare? he just does notes and stuff?

“Notes and stuff” is what you study. What else is there? Do you want to be spoon fed a detailed study guide or something?

Well ap art history contains a loooot of stuff! I’m not asking for a study guide… It’s hard to know what’s important and what’s not? Idk AP Art history I’m having trouble with :(

Perhaps an in-depth review book to use along with the class would be a good investment.

^ Where would I by the book? pleaaaase tell me! I’d like to ace the test

Woooooow, you neeeeeed to stooooooop puttttttting exxxxxxtra lettttters in your worrrrrds.
It really is quite annoying. I can barely read one of your posts without cringing, shaking my head, or getting ****ed off.
Yes, buying a review book seems like a good idea. There’s not really much else to say besides study more. If the class is too much, drop out and go to standard.

^ where would I buy the book? And what is it called? :)

Really, you’re a highschooler. You should be able to use Google by now. But since you asked, check out Barron’s AP Art History on Amazon.

87.8 lolololol

^agreed, a B+ in an AP class is not something to worry about. It just means you’re being challenged. If you were getting a C, I’d say consider dropping. But you’re in a position where you could work hard and end up with an A- at least, and if you stay at a B+ you’re still fine. Look over your tests and see what you failed to study, and study that kind of stuff for the next time. If you’re a high schooler in an AP class you really should be able to figure this out. Everyone struggles at some point in a class, so just keep trying and it’ll be ok.

Chill. You just need TWO POINT TWO (2.2 for those who are letter-challenged) points.
You still have a few months to increase it!

^ how when Im doing horrible with the tests!!! And semester ends in 9 weeks!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhh I can’t “chill”

I must tell you this, my fellow CC member.

1) Calm down. Breathe and relax. Panicking and beating yourself over this situation, or any situation, will NOT solve anything.

2) As the other posts have mentioned, a review book would be your best bet to help you on tests. BUT only if the tests include essays. Why? Because if they are mostly multiple choice, then the teacher will only put information from the notes or the textbook.
-I take AP European History and every time a test with an essay comes around I get a great grade because I put outside information, which impresses the teacher and automatically makes her give me extra points.
-As for the book, from research I’d suggest these:
[Amazon.com: Barron’s AP Art History with CD-ROM (Barron’s AP Art History (W/CD)) (9780764194634): John B. Nici M.A.: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Barrons-AP-Art-History-CD-ROM/dp/0764194631/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1319331236&sr=1-1)

[Amazon.com: AP Art History with Art CD and Testware (REA) (Advanced Placement (AP) Test Preparation) (9780738604794): Frank Chmiel, Larry Krieger: Books](http://www.amazon.com/History-Testware-Advanced-Placement-Preparation/dp/0738604798/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1319331236&sr=1-3)

3) Finally, to help you with your “decision.”
Do not give up. Study harder. Be more coordinate. Eat well. Sleep well.
Find the causes for your “low” grade compared to the classes you do great in and attack those flaws.

Good luck. Message me if you need further help and remember don’t get stressed out because it will affect your other classes. Breathe.

You guys are buttholes.
@Smarty: I would just drop down to regular. It’ll more than likely be an easy A that way, which would most definitelyy beat a C in AP.

@ engineerhelp thank you! You’re post was the nicest one yet  I appreciate it. And yeah there are essay questions, but Im okay with that. The multiple choice part is what blows me off!!! I’m horrible with that one… Would the prep book(links you gave me) help me with the multiple choice section (during the shook year)?

For multiple choice just immediately disregard the obvious WRONG answers.
Then choose the one you think is right.
If you’re not sure, then choose the FIRST one that you thought was right.
And try to chill! Being calm and collected allows your brain to dig up that pesky answer that keeps trying to elude you. Freaking out and worrying about your grade distracts your mind from the question.

Just know your stuff, and the multiple choice section will be a breeze!

^ that’s doesnt help me :frowning: waaaahhh. And why do you keep telling me to calm down? It’s almost the end of the semester and I still have a freaking B! D’’’’:
