well Arcade if thats the case then UCLA.

I mean I’m from the bay area and… well Westwood vs. Berkeley… Berkeley doesn’t stand a chance haha. Also don’t stress about prestige, for undergrad it’s not as important as in grad school to be honest, besides I think a B.S. probably looks better to potential employers than a B.A. anyways.

As for getting rescinded, if you got a 3.0 GPA it would bring your gpa down to what… like a 3.8. I think you would have to do bad enough to drastically alter your cumulative GPA to worry about getting rescinded.

hope I helped, and BTW congrats on admission to those two schools, especially since you got the killer GPA in an engineering degree while taking classes at a UC!

go to ucla. use that extra money saved to enjoy yourself :)

Dont get caught up in the rankings man. I chose UCLA. Even though Cal is ranked second in the nation for my major(ME), I chose the school I knew Id be happier at. I just know I’ll succeed where I am most happy. Seriously, suma cum laude @ UCLA is infinitely better than middle of the class @ Cal.

I love how people think that they will be at the top of their class at UCLA, but only middle of the class at Cal. Do you guys think there really is that big of a difference between the students that attend each school?

^^ Dont assume that. I firmly believe I would succeed at Cal as well. I can just thrive, academically speaking, at the school I am LOVING. Think of it this way, if I love the environment im in, and not detesting every waking moment, then I will ultimately succeed more. I have more friends in LA. I love the campus and the general vibe. Its absolutely the PERFECT college for me. Ergo, I will succeed given my work ethic. It definitely supplements, not hinders, my ability to graduate top of the class.

I think I’m with you SFWarrior. Now if I could just find a way to let UCLA let me drop this ridiculous summer class. I mean, it’s a huuuuuge financial burden (it’s 1600 dollars!). But it was a prerequisite (though there are like 16 prerequisites). I’ll call tomorrow.

Just to let you guys know, I think I’m definitely going for UCLA. I really shouldn’t let Berkeley’s top rank for my major dictate where I should go. I liked UCLA more than Berkeley, and I can’t pretend otherwise. I liked Berkeley, don’t get me wrong. But UCLA made me feel like I was at Disneyland or something…I loved the campus, the people seemed friendly and cool, I loved the area, I loved the vibe, and I loved the sports. I know that the school is the one for me…so that’s it. I’ll mull it over some more, but you can expect me to submit my intent to register within the next couple days. Congratulations to everyone who got into a school they want to go to!

@SF

I was just commenting on the way you phrased your statement. I understand entirely what you are saying. If you are happy, you will thrive. Given that both Universities are top schools, going to where makes you happiest is a great idea. Good luck in L.A. :)

@Arcade

Congrats! A step up from Riverside, no?

Every school I got into would be a big step up, haha. But definitely. Congratulations to you too! The UC-UC process is tough, and I think you have all the potential to do wonderfully at Berkeley. I want to hear about your experiences and all that once you get there!

Congratulations to the new Bruins. I am happy you guys are happy!
:)

you will have the experience you always wanted. UCLA is truly special

Let me know where you decide to go, janethedoe! :)

will do :)

so did you submit the SIR and join the network yet?

Not just yet. I’m gonna sit on it another few days (probably a bad idea to be honest). But by the end of this week I plan to.

yeah i feel like i am coming closer to a decision but i will not do anything till Monday the 31st…oh shiz thats a holiday huh?
i hope the site isnt down for maintenance or something like that.

if so then June 1st it is.

jane why the hesitation?
go bruins! I already SIRed and joined the network. What a shock to everyone that was hahah. They all thought I was Cal bound.

Congratulations SFwarrior25 :)

ah the hesitation stems from a life with lack of adventure.

adventure is so appealing.

EECS at Cal…hard to turn down…but UCLA…UCLA is a dream school.

http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/6457/sfwarrior25.jpg

Hey Jane, safety is ALSO appealing! You know what I’m talking about! So is staying in shape with, say, the UCLA triathlon team? That’s right!

UGH ■■■!!!

I’m dead serious when I say that I wish I was only admitted to one.

This decision is messing with my head. This is finals week and I’m infinitely more concerned and preoccupied with this decision than all of my finals combined lol.

Multiple times a day I change my mind.
I’m going to have regrets either way…and I don’t like regrets lol.

Emil
Very likely will go to the University of California, Los
Angeles.

get it, Nic?

hahaha gotcha! I very well may go to UCLA.

btw did you ever check out the UCLA video I sent you when you were on your Blackberry?
