Help Me Make My List... Thanks!

Thank you for taking the time to help me out with my college list. I have a pretty large list and would like to limit it to between 10-15.... Some schools I know I am going to definately apply too like Penn, Harvard, Stanford, Michigan, Georgetown, and Florida. So besides those 6 I am looking at 4-9 more that I can add to my list. I am looking for schools that have good academics (economics/business), prestige, atleast somewhat good sports (just not like division 3), seasonal weather with some snow, a nice campus, possibly conservative (republican), an in a not shallow way lots of partying and hot girls!... size doesnt matter and dont care if its urban or suburban... Thank you for all your help.

Stats:
SAT: Probably won't take... PSAT wasn't that good (Freshmen-150/Sophomore-180/Junior-???)
SAT II: Am taking Chem and U.S. History in May and Spanish and Math 2 in June
ACT: 30, took in November without studying and partied the night before (lol), will be retakng in February with lots of studying.
AP/IB taken/scores:
Sophmore Year- AP World- 3, AP Art History- Cancelled (lol), and AP Euro- 5
Junior Year- AP English lang, AP chem, AP U.S., AP psych, and AP Biology.
Senior Year- AP English lit, AP Calc BC, Ap Physics B, AP Macro, Ap Govern., and AP Spanish.

GPA weighted: 4.9... will be around a 6.0 by January 1st of 2010
GPA unweighted: 4.0... will be getting my first B in English this year so 3.96
Rank or % estimate: Definately Top 5%

Location/Person:
State or Country: Miami, FL
School Type: 900 students in Freshman class 4000 in school...really competitive...were ranked 67th in nation.
Ethnicity: Hispanic
Gender: Male
Legacy Yes/No: No
Recruited Yes/No: No
Important ECs: Class President (9-11), School Pres (12)probably, FBLA (9-12) Historian (10-11) vp (12) won 3rd place in business math in florida last year, Key Club Class Rep(9-10) historian (11-12), honor council (chairman 12), social science honor scoiety historian (11), youth soccer coach (10-12), national honor society (11-12)

So finally to the schools that im interested in and please add any suggestions if youd like...

Definitely:
Harvard
Stanford
Penn
Georgetown
Michigan
UF

Possibly:
FSU
Princeton
Yale
MIT
Columbia
Duke
Chicago
Northwestern
Wash U
Vanderbilt
Cal-Berkeley
Carnegie Mellon
Virginia
USC
Wake Forest
UNC
NYU
Lehigh

Once again thank you!

You could get some nice merit money at schools such as Alabama, LSU, South Carolina, etc...possibly full rides, but you are going to have to raise your ACT a little bit.

I'm assuming your not interested in Miami, didn't see that on your list. They give a lot of merit aid out.

Good luck.

Well, you need at least one safety... I don't really see any on there (many of those schools make weird decisions). So get one of those.

Now, stop and think. Which schools can you REALLY see yourself at? Cut the ones you can't. Then do a tournament set-up.

Also, while your stats are impressive all the schools are top schools. Are you just applying because of the prestige or do you really want to go there? Cut the ones you don't want to go to. (If this is not the case, my apologies.)

I agree with Marie03. Get a safety. UF would be except they only accept about 40% of those who applied. You can't expect to just make it into one of the top colleges with their small acceptance percentages, even if you apply to a bunch. For the majority of your list you are a long shot.

FSU is my safety cause in Florida if your a URM and first generation college all you need is a 22 ACT and a 3.0 GPA... and UF would be my other safety which could be tougher but our school literally sends like at least 40 kids to UF every year... any other suggestions

I would add

Boston College Eagles
Dartmouth College Big Green
Cornell University Big Red
Wake Forest University Demon Deacons

Honestly though, if you raise your ACT score you will get into Harvard. I don't want to sound racist, but being Hispanic will help you tremendously. Please don't take that as a racist comment.

lol none taken.... yea hoping for a 33+

i agree your ACT should be 3 higher for the ivies, idk your math skills but carnegie mellon they ask for like 710 in SAT format basically, Duke requires high math scores too

toss out Lehigh and Cal schools, Lehigh is kinda crappy, UVA is alright but not for business majors, Northwestern is a greaatt business school

notre dame!

I like all your "definitely"s, especially Penn ;)
