Help Me Make the Biggest Decision of My Life!!!

... or just my senior-year schedule. I'm debating between AP Bio and Honors Engineering.

AP Bio = hard class; full year; will have no study halls (7 classes); AP credit

Honors Engineering = easy class; only first semester; would get a first period study hall second semester, so I could come in late/study for quizzes/work on yearbook.

Is having AP Bio on my schedule worth the hardship? (note: I will be applying to engineering schools, so maybe H. Engineering would actually look better?) Somehow I feel like I'm just taking the easy way out by choosing Engineering.

Help!

Colleges care about rigor. You’d think Wharton would prefer a business related class over AP Chem, right? Wrong. A Wharton adcom told me to take AP Chem over Economics of Business.

It’s more important to prove that you can handle a difficult schedule than it is to take engineering related electives.

I talked to my counselor about a similar topic…She said schools look for rigor, and how well you can academically excel. I would go for the AP Bio over Engineering. Check out AP Physics or AP Calc if you want to go into engineering.

^^I agree with both people above. Colleges want you to take rigorous courses so they know you can handle their coursework. Take AP Bio because it is definitely more rigorous than honors engineering (which sounds more like a joke class).

Yeah, well said. AP Bio makes the most sense. Thanks for the advice!
