those are two super different majors…

to answer your last question, yes you can withdraw your SIR from UCLA and committ to USC (but you will lose the 100 from UCLA.)

which major are you more interested in??

probably more interested in Global business… But I kinda of think the math/econ class are more useful…

more useful in terms of what…getting a more secure (or lucrative) job in the future??

I don’t know what is more important to you…but I feel that my own personal interest is more important that what is practical or useful.

Do you plan on going to grad school?? If so, your undergrad major and school is far less important than what you decide to pursue in grad school–so it would be great if you could pursue your interests in undergrad and maybe make a more “practical” choice for grad school (only if you think it would be beneficial for your job)

also, USC’s alumni network extends beyond southern california and their global business major (from what I’ve heard anyway) is really amazing–I’m sure it would be just as “useful” for you as math/econ (for undergrad education anyway).

But I don’t knoww…I might be bias since I’m a trojan.
hehehe. fight on. :o

Thank you so much, your advice is valued^ ^

you are welcome.

are you leaning toward a particular school??

I think the USC global business seems slighty more broad and could allow for more profession choices. Math/econ is a bit more specific. If it was econ alone then i’d say go with that. If your are going to go only on the major, taking out factors about each school. IR seems like more of a major that you could use for many grad schools, and many of the professions you would likely do with IR lead to a grad school of some sorts. Math/econ seems like a major you likely won’t go to grad school with. If I were you I’d look at what is more important the major or the school. If you don’t prefer UCLA over USC or vice versa then choose the major that seems to fit your path best by looking at recent jobs people went into post grad, if they attended grad school etc. But if you prefer one school over the other, go to the school which you like most as you can change majors.
