Help me not repeat January fail!!!!!!!

On the essay how can some of you write so much in 25 minutes. Some guy in another thread posted his january "pressure increase productivity" essay that he got a 12 on. I copy pasted it to microsoft word. It had 543 words!!!!!!! WHAT??? Mine only turned out 392 words and I was writing nearly the entire time. I got a 9 :( My naturally small handwriting only took up 1.5 pages. Is there a true correllation between length and score?????

I completed both pages on the exam and got a 10 without any preparation for the writing section. I naturally got a 620 total. :(

Well mine was 1.8 pages and got a 10. semi small handwriting, if that helps you build a correlation.

RAlec, I went to your essay thread. Your essay was 391 words and mine was 394. lol almost exactly the same  Mine was so cookie-cutter with 3 poorly supported examples and I got a 9. I think you got a 10 due to more insight. March I’m going to use 2 examples and flesh them out more.

Just remember that the number of the paragraphs does not give you a higher score. They are looking for content rather than quality.

Haha lol. Good to know.

I must say I got a 10 really easily, only did one practice essay prior, though I was expecting an 11/12.

My simple format is:

Plain 2-3 sentence intro that simply takes a stance with the prompt (though after reading 12 papers I’m going to add some creativity and insight here.)

2 examples, each paragraph has the format: first half - explain example (this book is about… where. and this happens… ) and second half - show how it supports prompt

conclusion - boring 2 sentences of repeating intro, though I will try and add some creativity.

Also: I’ve seen that personal examples, when done well, can help the reader “connect” to your paper. lol. try that?

RAlec, I made a big post with both of our essay’s asking any 12’ers to compare/contrast/ give advice to help us.

Cool! I look to it for feedback, although I’m taking my next SAT in october. :)

I’m afraid that my handwriting won’t be readable as I write so fast, because my handwriting is already atrocious at normal speed… :</p>

I got an 800 and 12 essay without studying wooo!! (wish I could say that bout the other sections)

Can anyone attest to having atrocious handwriting and getting a good mark on the essay?

^that would be me…nearly illegible after reading my screenshot

dude, you haven’t seen mine… I’m known for my handwriting. :D

Wrote a personal essay for an 11, was fun rambling too.
