You're gonna need to improve another 80 or so points per section to have a chance at SMG.

Yeah I hate seein this kinda thing. You have great credentials and well-rounded extracirriculars but in this case it would be standardized testing alone that kept you out. See if you can raise those tests scores a bit. Definitely not a long shot as it stands though.

And yes you would most likely get into CGS, but like I said before don't stop there..interested in business? Apply to the business school and take it from there! I can't remember exactly but if I'm right the BU application specifically asks you if you would like to be considered for CGS if your intended major doesn't work out. In that case, you have nothing to lose..

so I am thinking apply to the business school and check the box that says CGS. Yeah that is the best way to go. I agree.

Yeah make sure I am right about the application thing. It's either you literally "check" to be considered for CGS or are automatically considered. In any case I still maintain there is NO reason you shouldn't apply to another school whether or not you are confident you will be admitted.

Is BU on the Common App?

Yes. I believe it also has it's own suppliment.

It is and yeah a supplement depending on school or intended major.

I was told you cannot apply directly to CGS? That if you are borderline for accpetance to one of other schools, instead of rejecting you they will offer you to study under CGS? This is what I was told by a counselor, perhaps it has changed.

ok thanks. If i want to apply to the business school, do i use the Common app or a supplement?

You use the Common App regardless of what school and major you wish to pursue. The Common App takes care of the important application details and some majors and schools will require a supplement in conjunction. When I applied to the accelerated six-year athletic training and doctoral physical therapy program I had to apply to BU and Sargent College through the common app and then also complete a very basic supplement which had to do with "why I chose this major" and things like that. The supplements are usually one page long and no big deal after you get through the common app which can be tedious.

anewkid- Your counselor has it wrong. You CAN be referred to CGS. You also CAN apply directly there.

wrong? probably but maybe your counselor is just trying to tell you somethin..

With my stats found on page 2 do you all think i could apply to the business school.... have a shot.... and then if not hopefully get referred to CGS.

Thanks..

Well it's always better to apply to your school of choice. In my opinion at least.

Yeah dukiess I think that's your best bet. You sound like you wanna go to BU under any circumstance so make sure that comes across in your application and throw in the fact that you'd be willing to go through CGS.
