Help me out with financial aid please?

<p>Hey guys, this is my first post here so I apologize if it's a little rocky.</p>

<p>The situation is, I'm a high school senior and my dream school is NYU Gallatin. It just sounds perfect for what I need right now.</p>

<p>Now, I'm a first generation citizen in America and neither of my parents finished college. So I'm a little lost in finding all of the ways I can knock down their ridiculously expensive tuition. I know about the FAFSA, and I know scholarships are available and grants, and all of that... But how much do you think that can actually help me?</p>

<p>At NYU very little. From our knowledge here NYU offers little FA and merit aid only to those with stellar stats. If you provide us with some info (home state, stats, what your family can afford, what you’d like to study) we can make some recommendations.</p>

<p>NYU has horrible aid. You need to find back-up schools that will be affordable.</p>

<p>What are your stats?</p>

<p>Have you run the net price calculator on NYU’s website? Do you know your expected EFC? Are you a NY resident and, if so, are you eligible for HEOP?</p>
