What book do you all suggest and why?

I need to read one of the three following books for my AP Lit class:
A Farewell to Arms
The Sun Also Rises
Sula

What book do you all suggest and why?

Not much of a choice. Two Hemingways?

Well the only one I have read is The Sun Also Rises

I would suggest reading it. It is really simple to read and easy to follow... it won't take you too long to read and it has some good themes dealing with sexuality but also provides an interesting storyline

Out of those 3 the only one I have read is A Farewell to Arms and it was very good.

i read farwell to arms in my sophmore year and thought it was a good book. the ending was sad when his wife and kid die; i felt really bad for the protagonist.

^Wow, very nice way to blow the ending of the book. :]

Anyway, I somewhat liked Farewell to Arms, considering that I really don't have much appreciation for Hemingway - the book was good, and if you, erm, agree with what's being said, then you'll probably like it.

The Sun Also Rises was my second favorite Hem book, For Whom the Bells Tolls being my first. I think if your willing to really analyze every line, you can get a lot out of TSAR.

^ *you're

Hemingway sucks, go with Sula 100%; it's pretty amazing, as with most Morrison. As for the second choice...The Sun Also Rises is the lesser of two evils with Hemingway, I guess. Your teacher really stinks, making your read two Hemingways! How about a choice between Sula and Beloved?

Never heard of any of these books/authors in my life.

Go roll the dice.

^Ernest Hemingway?!?!?? Doesn't ring a bell?

i know, two out of the three are hemingway. and for the past week, all we have done is read hemingway short stories. apparently he does this every year though. goes through "authors". the two weeks before that it was O'Connor (who is awesome btw).

So it looks like not many supporters of Sula, other than one or two who seem to just hate Hemingway.

And it looks like The Sun Also Rises got a bigger crowd of support. I think that is where i'm going to end up unless I hear some awesome review about the other.
