A “lower” GPA at a rigorous high school is different than a “lower” GPA at a less demanding high school. What’s your relative rank within the class? Are you in the top half? Bottom?

What is the amount of family contribution? Many of these LAC’s offer merit and financial aid. Have you run the NPC? sometimes the gap may still be to much to be affordable. What type of major are you interested in and what EC’s and interests do you have?
You may also find that LACs offer financial aid yielding a total net cost that ends up being even lower than costs at your in-state public. The best LACs can offer amazing aid.
