What about CPSLO in addition to SDSU? I realize SLO is fairly competitive, but OP’s stats are competitive.
Only programs at campuses other than the main Tempe campus offer WUE at ASU (the other campuses vapoear to be mainly for nontraditional students). But there may be some scholarships for high stats applicants – check its web site. ASU and its CS major are not hard to get into; the OP may be auto admit by stats (check web site). In Arizona, UA may have higher scholarships.
@Techno13 OOF, I think I’ll stick with my original 5 plus Davis then and add sdsu to my list.
I’ll also look into asu and cpslo.
@amsunshine: SLO’s CS projected target acceptance rate is 5.6% so not a Safety even with competitive stats.
Question, on the csu application, it says to enter my courses exactly as they are on my transcript. When I tried to enter Honors World History, it said that the course didn’t exist, but that World History Honors existed. Should I go with the one they suggest or the one exactly on my transcript?
Yes, go with World History Honors.
@Gumbymom ok, thanks!
Sorry another question - in the part where I enter my courses, for 12th grade, I chose In Progress for 1st semester, do I choose in progress for 2nd semester or planned?
Also there is no option for AP economics, is that right? And my school has the class as AP economics/gov, since we are required to take both, the last month or so our teacher teaches gov. What should I put for that?
In this case should I just manually enter AP economics? and gov second semester?
For 12th grade courses, in-progress for 1st semester and planned for 2nd semester.
There is AP Macroeconomics or AP Microeconomics. Which Econ are you taking?
You can check your HS course list on the link provided by typing in your HS name and it will list all the AP classes.
Most HS’s have 1 semester of AP Macro Econ and 1 semester of AP Government and Politics United States. If you are unsure, I would check with your GC on how you should enter in the classes.
@Gumbymom thanks! I was being an idiot lol, I take macro. I have both semesters of AP macro, and then the month after the ap test is just regular gov.
Good that you got everything figured out.
This was not my experience. My kids applied to UCs in 2014, 2016, 2018. High GPA and tests, average ECs. Acceptances can be unpredictable with a holistic review.
Older two got into all UCs except for UCR and UCM (did not apply). Youngest got into all except UCD and UCSD. Lots of kids I know during these applications cycles received cross acceptances.
COE definitely more competitive and unpredictable acceptances.
i believe each UC independently reviews their aps, there’s no negative stigma for those who apply to all 9 campuses.
I concur ^^^ that there is no disadvantage in applying to all the UC’s. Only disadvantage is costs especially if you are ELC eligible, so UC Merced could be dropped from the list.
