Hello everyone,
So I have been admitted into College of Charleston and am waiting to hear back from SMU (hopefully I will get in) and am so torn between the two. I love them both equally and need help picking.
I LOVE Charleston so much and think it is an amazing city, also the campus is beautiful but I wish it had a more campus feel to it. I love the weather in Charleston, its warm but also gets cold, the school is also near the beach. Charleston also has a riding team which I could join which is a big plus. The negatives are that they only have 59 majors and since I don't know what I want to major in, thats not that many options to choose from and the school isn't really known for its academics, more of a party school. Also, they don't really have sports like football so I feel like there won't be much school spirit.
For SMU, I love the campus, its everything I think of when I imagine a college campus. Also, SMU is better known academically and having a little over 100 majors gives me a wide variety of classes to try. SMU also has more D1 sports which I like and is in Dallas giving students a lot of opportunities. The cons of SMU are that the riding team is D1 so I can't join, the weather is super super hot, and its really far from where I live (CT). I also feel like I may not fit in at SMU since I am not tall, skinny, and blonde, I know that is a stereotype but when I went to visit that seemed to be the only girls I saw.
My question for both is what the sororities are like on both campuses, since I intend to join one.
Thank you so much, any input would be greatly appreciated.
